Front clip harness:
I like a front clip harness because when you correct your dog it actually moves the dog to the right or left side preventing your dog from being able to get lower to the ground and pull harder or stand up on hind legs and continue to pull where he wants to go. |
Regular collar:
(Just a thin simple nylon or leather collar) This collar should not be used to clip your leash to it but rather hold your dog's tags and I would recommend attaching a safety clip to it while walking outside. |
6ft long leash for everyday walking:
(No stretchy, extended or double handles needed) Get the clasp and width (thickness) of leash that is appropriate for your dog or puppy. It really doesn't need to be big or heavy. Once you teach your dog how to walk properly, they won't pull on it anyway. |
Extra long training leash for safe fun and games outside:
I recommend a 30ft lead for larger dogs and 25ft for smaller dogs. Having your dog on a long leash while walking on trails, open areas and practicing RECALL and STAY outside with distractions. |

Safety clip:
(Pick a clip that will be attached to your dog's front clip harness and then to your dog's collar. This way if they mange to squeeze out of the harness or if it's not on correctly, your dog won't get away from you because it will also be attached to their collar.) |
