Hello! My name is Sue Rennick and I LOVE everything about dogs! I have spent most of my professional career in the teaching and education field and decided several years ago to take my knowledge and expertise and apply it to my life-long passion of working with dogs. Having grown up with dogs and eventually adopting one of my own from the Toronto Humane Society, I had my first experience working with a dog that had behavioural issues. I studied everything related to dog behaviour and developed my skills in dog training and behaviour modification. I loved what I learned so much that I welcomed two more rescue dogs into my pack. My family has been a part of the Oakville/Burlington community since 2001 and I'm looking forward to meeting you and your dog. I am committed to showing you how to use force-free, simple training techniques to effectively communicate with your dog and create a mutual love, understanding and respect for each other. I only use positive reinforcement techniques that are backed by the most up-to-date scientifically proven methods.
My Experience:
I have over 10 years of experience working with dogs of many different sizes and breeds including new puppies, rescue/adopted dogs and older dogs.
My area of focus has been on positive reinforcement trainingtechniques, basic and advanced cues, attention skills (with distractions), behaviour modification and developing a better understanding of dog behaviour.
I have been involved with many non-profit organizations that care about the welfare of animals.
My experience also includes dog walking, working at dog daycare centers and several Humane Societies where I had the opportunity to create a trusting bond with many dogs and their owners. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the needs of the various dog breeds and managing the various temperaments of these dogs on a daily basis. It was my pleasure to give them the care, attention and exercise they needed while in my care.
I am currently the dog trainer for Oakville and surrounding areas for the non-profit organization GOLDEN RESCUE.
My Training:
I have been formally trained to recognize the needs of individual dogs and set an action plan in motion to teach and communicate with them in a gentle and effective way.
Successful completion of in-depth animal behaviour training that focused on different learning techniques and the use of the most humane, science-based practices.
Pet First Aid and CPR
