Training That Fits Your Dog, Your Home, and Your Life

Training should reflect your dog, your home, and your goals — not a generic formula.

Services are built to support you and your dog, with professional, in-home guidance tailored to your environment and routine.

Whether you've just brought home a new puppy, or a newly adopted dog or you need help with your dog's everyday behaviour or obedience, training focuses on clear communication, understanding and patience.
Guided instruction provides hands-on experience and builds confidence - in yourself and in your dog.

Getting Started- Your First Step

Your initial consultation is a focused session designed to assess your dog’s current habits, clarify your goals, and identify the skills or behaviours you’d like to strengthen.

During this consultation, we look at why certain behaviours are happening and how to build clear communication through practical training. You’ll gain valuable insight into your dog's behaviour and learn how you can begin making changes right away.

Together, we outline a structured plan for moving forward with clarity and confidence.

💚 Right Fit Dog Consultation Service

Bringing home a new puppy or dog — whether through adoption, rehoming, or a breeder — is exciting, but choosing the right match for your home is the most important step.
Together, we assess temperament, energy level, breed traits, and overall suitability to ensure the dog or puppy you choose truly fits your family and lifestyle.

Consultation and support may include:

  • An initial consultation — either in your home or by phone — along with a detailed questionnaire to understand your lifestyle, expectations, and the type of dog you are considering
  • Review of breeder or rescue information
  • Recommendations on suitable breeds, temperament traits, and energy levels based on your household and daily routine
  • Attendance at up to two separate meet-and-greet visits if you would like. (An extra fee for travel time may be invoiced separately) and professional input during those meetings
  • Honest, experienced feedback to help you make a confident, informed decision

Because best behaviour starts with understanding — right from the start.

Puppy Training Program

Support for puppies and young dogs during their critical early learning stages, with an emphasis on establishing clear structure and boundaries, teaching essential skills, and setting the stage for long-term success.
Common areas of focus may include:

  • Potty training, crate training and consistent daily routines
  • Foundational commands and household manners
  • Bite inhibition and appropriate play skills
  • Confidence-building and calm behaviour

Training is practical, age-appropriate, and tailored to your home, lifestyle, and your puppy’s individual temperament.
If you’ve recently adopted an older puppy or young dog, our Adopted Dog Training Program can provide additional guidance to help support a smooth and confident transition into your home.

Adolescent Dog Training Program

Adolescence can be one of the most unpredictable stages of a dog’s development. Training during this period focuses on strengthening communication, improving focus, and building consistent, reliable responses as your dog moves through the adolescent phase.

Common areas of focus may include:

  • Loose leash walking and managing outdoor distractions
  • Impulse control and improved focus
  • Strengthening recall
  • Navigating boundary testing and inconsistent listening

This program helps you guide your dog through adolescence with structure, patience, and practical strategies that encourage steady progress.

If your dog has moved beyond the adolescent stage and requires more targeted support for specific challenges, our Behaviour Training Program may be a better fit.

Adopted Dog Training Program

Adopting a dog is an exciting new beginning, but it can also come with some uncertainty as your dog adjusts to their new home, unfamiliar routines, and different expectations. Early training focuses on helping your dog settle in, build trust, and learn how to navigate daily life with confidence.
Common areas of focus may include:

  • Establishing clear household routines and expectations
  • Building trust and confidence in a new environment
  • Loose leash walking and calm responses on neighbourhood walks
  • Strengthening recall and consistent responses to cues
This program helps your dog transition smoothly into your home with patient guidance and practical strategies that support steady progress and long-term success.

Behaviour Dog Training Program

Support for adult dogs who need guidance with specific behaviour concerns or help strengthening reliable skills at home and outdoors.

If your dog has recently joined your household, our Adopted Dog Training Program can provide additional support during the adjustment period.

Common areas of focus may include:

  • Reactivity toward dogs, people, or environmental triggers
  • Fear, anxiety, or stress-related responses
  • Barking, lunging, or avoidance behaviours
  • Difficulty focusing in stimulating environments
  • Strengthening obedience and overall responsiveness

Training is calm, structured, and force-free — paced to support your dog’s emotional wellbeing while building lasting, dependable progress.

🐕 Lifestyle Skills Program

The Lifestyle Skills Program is designed for owners who want their dog to confidently accompany them beyond the home. Training takes place in real-life settings such as parks, outdoor cafés, community spaces, dog-friendly stores, or while travelling and camping, helping your dog learn how to remain calm, attentive, and responsive in a variety of everyday environments.

We build on and apply practical skills that allow your dog to participate comfortably in more of your life, strengthening focus, reliability, and steady behaviour even when there are distractions around.
This program is often added alongside foundational or behaviour training for owners who want their dog to feel confident and responsive during outings, errands, and other community experiences.

Common Challenges We Can Help With

Many families reach out because they’re facing similar everyday challenges.

While training is always personalized, support often includes:

  • Not responding reliably to cues such as come, stay, or leave it
  • Jumping on guests when they arrive
  • Pulling on leash during walks
  • Barking at doors or windows
  • Difficulty settling indoors
  • Over-excitement or reactivity around people or other dogs
  • Limited focus in distracting environments

If any of these sound familiar, guidance and structure can make a meaningful difference — and you don’t have to work through it alone.
We believe in positive reinforcement training

Positive re-enforcement training allows you to communicate clearly with your dog. When you reward your dog for doing things correctly, it's more likely they will repeat those good behaviours. If they're misbehaving it's likely they just don't understand what you want from them.
