Sue's journey into dog training began with a little rescue dog named Kelsie.

Over a decade ago, Kelsie was adopted from the Toronto Humane Society — underweight, fearful, and completely shut down around people. Sue promised her she would not give up on her. Through patience, trust-building, and positive reinforcement, Kelsie grew into a confident, loving companion. That experience sparked a passion for understanding dog behaviour and inspired the foundation of Best Behaviour Dog Training Services.

Today, we support families in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Mississauga, helping dogs and their owners build strong, respectful relationships through clear communication, understanding, and kindness.

Our Training Philosophy

We are a force-free training service. We do not use harsh corrections, intimidation, or punishment-based techniques. Instead, we use positive reinforcement methods that are humane, effective, and tailored to each dog. Our focus is on building confidence, cooperation, and long-term success — not quick fixes.

Experience & Background

Sue, the founder and lead trainer, brings over 15 years of hands-on experience working with new puppies, rescue and adopted dogs, adult and senior dogs, and behaviour challenges including fear, overwhelm, barking, and reactivity. Her background includes working in dog daycare environments, Humane Societies, professional dog walking, and collaborating with other professional trainers.

She has completed multiple in-depth programs in animal behaviour, learning theory, behaviour modification, and dog–human communication, and continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing education.

Sue is an active member of the CAPDT (Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers), staying current with modern, evidence-based, force-free training practices.

Rescue at Heart

Rescue work remains close to our hearts.
